How To Grow Oxeye Daisy From Seed: To start the seeds indoors, use seedling modules or small pots. Sow a pinch of seed in each cell/pot. Cover the seed very lightly with compost. Keep the compost damp but not soggy throughout germination. Germination can take 2 to 4 weeks. When the seedlings emerge, thin to leave only the strongest one in each cell/pot. When the seedlings become established, plant them into larger pots. When frost risk has passed, transplant them to their final spot in the garden.
Oxeye Daisy seeds can also be planted directly outside in the garden when frost risk has passed in late Spring, or in Autumn. Autumn planted seeds will produce flowers in the following year. Spring planted seeds can sometimes also not produce flowers until the second year.
When the flowers are blooming, deadhead them to keep the plant producing more flowers.
Oxeye Daisy has a multitude of other common names, including: ox-eye daisy, dog daisy, field daisy, Marguerite, moon daisy, moon-penny, poor-land penny, poverty daisy, white daisy, bull daisy, button daisy, goldens, midsummer daisy, and moon flower.
